Your donation is an investment in the people, systems, and technology that allow us to create and support matches between children and caring adults. We hold ourselves accountable to our donors by regularly measuring the impact of our work.

We seek to put children on a path to lifelong success and change the trajectories of their lives in positive ways. To achieve our mission, we commit to measure and be responsible for specific youth outcomes that focus on:

  • educational achievement
  • avoidance of risky behaviors (especially juvenile delinquency)
  • higher self-esteem, confidence, and improved ability to relate to others

We define success based on measurable outcomes and scales. By working with our donors, mentors, children, families, and partners, we hope to drive collaboration to find solutions to the challenges facing Madison and Dane County's youth.

By donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, you are joining our mission of positively affecting children in Madison, Wisconsin, and the surrounding community. Every day, our team works tirelessly to change the perspectives of children and give them an opportunity to achieve great things.

Our work is made possible through generous supporters in our community, and we’re thrilled to receive your support in any shape or size. Prefer to write a check and stick it in the mail? No problem. Want to zip a donation our way using cryptocurrency? Also, no problem. Old school, new school, and everything in between, we strive to make the donation process easy for each donor. How will you choose to give?

Checks can be mailed to our main office listed below. Along with your donation, please include a note with your mailing address, phone number, and email.

Many companies offer a matching gift program to their employees or, in some cases, family members of employees and/or retirees. Taking advantage of your employer’s matching gift program allows you to double your donation (or more). Please check with your human resources department to see if your employer has a matching gift program. (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County's tax identification number is 39-1077783.)

We are happy to facilitate a stock donation or a gift of proceeds from a vehicle/property sale. Using platforms that manage these types of donations, we can work with you or your financial advisor to easily make your donation.

Through planned giving, you can leave a legacy that transforms children's lives and shapes our community's future for generations. By including us in your estate plans, you ensure our mentorship programs thrive. There are various ways to do this, like bequests, naming us as a beneficiary, or establishing trusts. Your planned gift supports our mentoring programs, allowing us to reach more children and provide ongoing support. Join our legacy circle through planned giving, and your generosity will be remembered for years to come.

If you're 70½ or older, you can donate directly from your IRA to BBBS of Dane County, reducing your taxable income and potentially lowering your tax bill.
